Entering Waldorf Astoria West Bay felt like stepping into a captivating tale of modern elegance and Art Deco grandeur. As I ascended its 44 stories, I found myself immersed in a tribute to the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York.

From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was enveloped in 283 Art Deco-inspired rooms and suites that echoed the sophistication of the 1930s. The collaboration with HBA, a renowned hospitality design firm, seamlessly blended tradition with innovation, creating a visual masterpiece.
Iconic style
The heartbeat of the hotel resonated in the form of the Tiffany & Co. clock, a 771-pound work of art in anodized aluminum, casting a robin’s-egg blue hue and diamond motif—a nod to Tiffany’s iconic style. This enchanting timepiece set the tone for the entire experience, connecting spaces with a harmonious, well-designed palette.
The reception area unfolded like a dreamscape with an Églomisé screen inspired by Jean Dunand’s landscapes and hand-painted De Gournay wallpaper. As I explored further, the guest rooms revealed a commitment to luxury. It is featuring Aqua Bella marble, Tiffany Blue-inspired mohair, and embossed shagreen patterned wallpaper.
The Peacock Alley
The Peacock Alley, a historical gem, found its place in Doha, faithfully recreating the glamour of the original Big Apple establishment. The Cortland Bar unveiled a Jazz Bar adorned with Namban De Gournay wallpaper. Where gilded tones and celestial pendant lights created a nostalgic yet glamorous atmosphere.
Journeying deeper, the Rear Ballroom Lobby mirrored the streets of Manhattan with Sputnik-style pendant lights and distinctive Amazonite marble. As I entered the ballrooms, intricate relief-patterned walls and geometric panels in platinum and jade green hues. These enveloped me in the glamour of the “Gatsby” era.
In every corner, the design narrative unfolded, seamlessly marrying Art Deco opulence with contemporary luxe. From the lobby to the ballrooms, Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay paid homage to its storied past. While crafting a fresh, aspirational experience in the heart of Doha—a tale of impeccable elegance.
